The Conference on an Active Circular Economy.
People keep talking about sustainability.
We take action.
The GETC conference is directed towards all those who want to actively shape the transition from a linear to a circular economy. This transition requires knowledge, inspiration, connections and a hint of courage. The Foundation for Sustainability’s event offers just that, activating industries, politics and research to adopt a circular economy approach.
What is Circular Economy?
In our current economy, we take materials, make products from them, and eventually toss them in the trash. The process is linear and demands the use of valuable limited resources.
The circular economy prevents waste from being created in the first place. This shift in thinking from linear to circular creates great opportunities – not only against the climate crisis, but also for sustainable and profitable business models. For example, many industrial byproducts are currently considered to be waste because no suitable application has been found or sought. In an active circular economy, the value of these resources is recognized and utilized sustainably.
